When I first discovered LOUISE & ELEANOR and was introduced to Megan Tierney, I was in awe of the incredible work and story of this highly successful woman in real estate and her mission to create a luxury handbag company that was committed to positively impacting and empowering women worldwide. Not only was the story behind the brand beautiful, but like us as individuals no two bags were alike and each handbag was specially made and featured its own unique characteristics that define its own beauty.
I knew I wanted to get involved and bring my love of fashion, branding, and philanthropy to the team. During my senior year at Northwestern University, in addition to my full time studies and internships, I headed all Public Relations & Marketing including social media management for the brand.
At LOUISE & ELEANOR, I got to see and contribute to a startup handbag company flourish into a lifestyle brand. I had the ability to work with MS Foundation of the Cayman Islands in their successful launch in a charity fashion show and be apart of the amazing partnership with Cliff Drysdale Tennis at the 2017 Miami Open. I also promoted the Fashion and Beauty Days with our charity partners Lotus House in Miami and Two Wings in Los Angeles by giving clothes, beauty products/tips, style advice, career tips, handbags and inner development workshops to the women who participate in these programs.
With Louise & Eleanor I have learned so much about myself about the power of community cultivation from the ground up and how we can continue to make the world a better place each day to inspire women to push beyond the glass ceiling and pursue their dreams limitlessly while giving back to the community. Who knew how powerful a handbag can be in providing a future through helping a woman to feel her best and impact her life for the better? I now do.
As I transition to make my dreams a reality, I will acting as a Marketing & PR Consultant for the brand. Even though I may be going after my own passions, I owe it to Megan Tierney and continue to cheer the brand on as it continues to take over the world and inspire us all to be the best we can be.
Megan wrote this note to me and I’d like to share it will all of you:
“I was 24 when I wrote our LOUISE & ELEANOR book, Best Wishes, and had the idea for the company. I thought it fitting to recap 10 years and pass on some of the lessons I’ve learned in the last decade and offer some of my Best Wishes ;
#1. I wish you courage. Take big bold chances, follow your heart and trust your intuition. Boldly go in the direction of your dreams and know each step will take you a little closer to achieving wherever your imagination takes you.
#2. I wish you mistakes. That may sound odd, but I hope you try lots of things. In that process, it’s only natural to make mistakes, but it’s where some of our greatest lessons come from. Keep trying things and keep making mistakes, just not the same ones twice.
#3. I wish you picking yourself up. After mistakes, I hope you take what you learned, now armed with more understanding, wisdom, and insight to dust yourself off a little stronger than before and to try again.
#4. I wish you happiness. I hope you have too many to count, fun, wonderful and adventure filled moments. Dive in and let your hair down once in awhile.
#5. I wish you friendship. It’s important in business and life to have people who believe in and support you. In turn, I hope you do the same for them. Keep building and growing your relationships. It’s okay to be vulnerable, to let people in and to show them your heart. The right people will protect it.
#6. I wish you passion. We have a short time on this Earth to do what we can and to hopefully find the things that awaken our spirit. Finding your calling will change your life, keep going until you find it or something that makes you excited to get out of bed every day.
#7. I wish you a creative space. I hope you find a peaceful place to think, feel centered, dream, get inspired and let your creativity shine.
#8. I wish you love. The relationship you have with yourself sets the foundation. Value yourself, believe in yourself and know your worth. And then, if you meet someone who makes your heart smile…I hope they know how lucky they are.
#9. I wish you kindness. I hope as you’re coming up in your career you have people to offer their hand in support and guidance. When you get to a certain point, I hope you turn around and offer your hand to the person behind you.
#10. I wish you a decade. A decade of learning, trials, ups, downs, laughing, tears, sunrises, sunsets, seasons changing and you yourself changing. Changing yet not forgetting where you started and persistence to keep forging ahead to where you’re going.
I hope when you look back and look within, you’re proud. Proud of the woman you’ve become and proud of the woman you will continue to grow into. Cheers to you, to living your own story and in the most you way possible.”
